In recent developments, Clean Harbors acquired HEPACO for $400 million in March 2024, enhancing its environmental and emergency response capabilities, particularly in field services, rail assets, and the Eastern U.S. with projected $20 million in annual cost synergies. The company secured $110 million in contracts in December 2025 for PFAS water filtration systems at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, partnering with V2X to expand regenerative carbon and resin technologies operational since 2022. Additionally, Clean Harbors plans a $210 million state-of-the-art processing plant using solvent de-asphalting technology to convert re-refining byproducts into high-value base oils, targeting commercial launch in 2028 with a six-to-seven-year payback, alongside ramping up its Kimball incinerator to process 28,000 tons in 2025 for $10 million in EBITDA contribution.
